	Subj:	Credit Standards - Status of Military Housing Availability

1.  VA Credit Standards specify that DD Form 1747, Status of Housing Availability, is a required exhibit in most instances to support the use of quarters allowance in qualifying military personnel. To permit consideration of the allowance in the loan analysis, the form must indicate that the borrower is unlikely to be required to occupy on-base housing. 2.  Due to present economic conditions, on-base housing is in demand by service personnel at a number of military installations. Many bases have waiting lists for military quarters.
