Verification of VA Benefit-Related Indebtedness
VA form 26-8937 must be completed and submitted to VA, prior to loan closing, when the veteran is either in receipt of VA disability compensation or VA non-service connected pension, or has been rated incompetent by VA.

- The normal turnaround time is three business days. The response will be returned via fax or US mail.

- In situations requiring urgent attention (closing is within five calendar days of request) a faxed request will be accepted, and the response will be returned by fax within 24 hours of receipt. There must be a clear indication of the requirement for immediate attention.
