VetSuccess Employment Expo - Veteran Information

SCHEDULE:
8:00 AM to 10:00 AM - "Resume Development and Interviewing Techniques"
Training Workshop
This FREE training is available for all veterans.
NOTE: Veterans currently participating in the Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment program are required to attend this training to be eligible for travel reimbursement.

10:00am to 2:00pm - Employment Expo
Meet with potential employees from federal, state, and private companies primarily located in the state of West Virginia. Be prepared to provide your resume, discuss career opportunities, and possibly conduct on-the-spot interviews. Occupations include federal and state government, medical, engineering, telecommunications, restaurant, retail, financial, apprenticeship/OJT, and much more.

LOCATION: All events will be held at Goodwill Industries of Kanawha Valley, Inc. in Charleston, WV.

DIRECTIONS:
Goodwill Industries of Kanawha Valley, Inc. is located at 209 Virginia St. West, Charleston, WV 25302.

PARKING: Parking information will be provided upon arrival.

WHAT TO BRING: Bring plenty of resumes!! If applicable, bring copies of your DD214 and Civil Service Preference letter for discussions with Federal employers.

EXPENSE REIMBURSEMENT: Veterans who are currently participating in the Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment program and live 25 miles or more away and participate in the training workshop are eligible to be reimbursed for mileage. Veterans who are currently participating in the Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment program and live 100 miles or more away and participate in the training workshop are eligible to be reimbursed for mileage, the cost of their overnight stay April 9th, and breakfast on April 10th. To receive reimbursement, receipts must be provided to a member of the VetSuccess staff during the training workshop. It is also requested that you send an RSVP to the email address Jobfair.vbahun@va.gov with the subject line "RSVP for job fair training." This will allow your travel voucher to be prepared in advance of the training to ensure timely payment of your mileage expense. (Cashiers will not be on hand at the event; all reimbursements will be processed and mailed to the address on file.)

RSVP: An RSVP is not required to participate in this event. All Veterans & Service Members are invited to attend. If you are eligible for expense reimbursement, an RSVP is requested, but not required; refer to the Expense Reimbursement section for instructions.
