In February 2003, the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) announced that
Ocwen Federal Bank (Ocwen) was selected as the winning bidder to manage and sell VA acquired properties.
The contract between Ocwen and VA became effective in August 2003, allowing the transition to begin. This transition has and will continue to encompass all aspects of VA Property Management. The complete transfer to Ocwen is expected to take until February 2004.
As part of the transition, we posted our last listing of properties for sale in October 2003. The last date for the acceptance of an offer was October 29, 2003.
While VA will continue to maintain any properties assigned until otherwise advised, no offers may be made on any properties in VA's inventory. Properties assigned to VA will continue to be maintained and winterized.
