Listed below are links to websites with information that may be used in the process of verifying stressors. VA has approved the use of these websites and other government (.gov and .mil) sites as the basis for such verification. While there are many non-government sites that may contain additional supporting documentation, information from those sites cannot serve as the sole basis for verification. KIAs (Killed in Action) in Iraq

Casualty names are listed by date and there is also a search engine for the last name. Each name has a link to a dated DoD press release which confirms the casualty and provides unit, circumstances of death, etc. These name links provide the official DoD information.

Marine Corps Database Search for Combat Action Ribbon

The USMC has posed the names including the last four numbers of the SSN for all Marines awarded the Combat Action Ribbon for the past 15 years.

On that page, go to "Award Search" in the lower left corner and click on the drop down box, then on "CAR" then on "search". It takes some time for the database to begin to provide the names. Please note: The database is huge and each page contains 5000 names. Give it time to load.

This site is being updated continuously and already confirms names from Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom.
