Public Transportation

The Philadelphia VA Regional Office and Insurance Center is located at the intersection of Wissahickon Avenue and Manheim Street in the Germantown section of the city.

  • By Bus - The "H" and "XH" Septa buses stop in front of the VA Regional Office and Insurance Center. You can connect to these bus routes from the Broad Street Subway at the "Erie" stop.

  • By Regional Rail - From Septa regional rail stations Market Street East, 30th St. Station, Suburban Station, Fox Chase, or Chestnut Hill West, take the R8 train (Chestnut Hill West) to the Queen Lane Station. The VA Regional Office and Insurance Center is on the right side of Wissahickon Avenue, and is approximately a 10 minute uphill walk.

  • Septa Information - For additional information about taking SEPTA Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Administration (SEPTA)*

Driving Directions

From the Northeast:
From New York and other points Northeast, take the New Jersey Turnpike South, take Exit 6 onto the Pennsylvania Turnpike (I-276 West). Exit at US route 1 South (Roosevelt Blvd.) from Exit 28 you travel approximately about 18 miles , to Fox St. exit. At the first traffic signal, turn right onto Fox Street. At the first stop sign, turn right onto Queen Lane. At the next traffic signal, turn right onto Wissahickon Avenue. The VA Regional Office and Insurance Center is on right side, parking lot is approximately 3/10 of a mile on the right side.

From the North of Pennsylvania:
Take the Pennsylvania Turnpike Northeast Extension (I-476) South. At the end of the Northeast Extension, continue straight, through the Mid-County Interchange toll Plaza, continuing on I-476 South. Take Exit 6 onto I-76 East (Schuylkill Expressway). Take Exit 34 onto U.S. Route 1 North (Roosevelt Blvd.). Exit at Wissahickon Avenue North (not Wissahickon Avenue South). Bear right, around the ball field, onto Wissahickon Avenue. The VA Regional Office and Insurance Center is on left side, parking lot is approximately 3/10 of a mile on the left side.

From the West:
Take the Pennsylvania Turnpike (I-76) East. Take the Valley Forge Interchange (Exit 24). Continue on I-76 East (Schuylkill Expressway). Take Exit 34 onto U.S. Route 1 North (Roosevelt Blvd.). Exit at Wissahickon Avenue North (not Wissahickon Avenue South). Bear right, around the ball field, onto Wissahickon Avenue. The VA Regional Office and Insurance Center is on left side, parking lot is approximately 3/10 of a mile on the left side.

From Northeast Philadelphia:
Drive south on Roosevelt Boulevard (U.S. Route 1 South), exit at Fox Street. At the first traffic signal, turn right onto Fox Street. At the first stop sign, turn right onto Queen Lane. At the next traffic signal, turn right onto Wissahickon Avenue. The VA Regional Office and Insurance Center parking lot is approximately 3/10 of a mile on the right side.

From the South:
Take (I-95) North into Philadelphia. Exit onto (I-676) West. Continue on (I-676) and merge onto (I-76) West (Schuylkill Expressway). Exit onto U.S. Route (1) North (Roosevelt Expressway). Exit at Wissahickon Avenue North (not Wissahickon Avenue South). Bear right, around the ball field, onto Wissahickon Avenue. The VA Regional Office and Insurance Center is on left side, parking lot is approximately 3/10 of a mile on the left side.
