VA also has the capability to provide training to you using video teleconferencing equipment.

Technical specifications of the equipment you need are listed below.

The VA Nationwide Teleconferencing System (VANTS) provides multi-featured audio and video teleconferencing services for the entire Department of Veterans Affairs. Video teleconferencing enables participants from various locations the ability to conduct meetings or training without the expense of travel.

To be able to participate in a VANTS video conference, the receiving facility (in this case, a lending institution) must be equipped with a video teleconferencing system capable of operating at 384 kb/s.

Examples of compatible video teleconferencing systems include, but are not limited to: Polycom, Picturetel, VTEL, and Tannenburg.

If you have any technical questions regarding the necessary equipment you must have to allow VA to train your staff using video teleconferencing, please e-mail the lender training team at lendertraining@vba.va.gov.

Each broadcast covers an area related to a specific activity, including sessions for originators, underwriters, closers and shippers, real estate professionals, and other lending and real estate industry professionals. Broadcasts can be viewed at a VA Regional Office near you and are also broadcast on streaming video, if you are unable to attend the session at the Regional Loan Center. VHS tapes can be purchased after each broadcast by calling (800) 800-3827.

OVERSIGHT AND ON-SITE TRAINING:

As a part of ongoing efforts to meet the needs of our program participants we are constantly striving to provide better services to all of our customers. This includes future development of on-site training at a lender's office, which would consist of specially designed training for that lender based on their needs. While on-site for training we will also be providing required oversight by reviewing lender underwriting practices to assist lenders to the greatest extent possible in complying with VA policies and regulations. As we develop this part of our program we would encourage lenders to submit issues and training needs relevant to their operation(s). From these submissions, ongoing surveys and contacts with lenders we intend to have the best possible information available so that you, as a VA approved lender, can assist our veterans in the most efficient and timely manner possible. Any suggestions should be submitted to the Regional Loan Center either in writing, via e-mail, or by FAX to the following:
