Philadelphia VA Regional Office & Insurance Center (VAROIC)

Employment at the VAROIC

The VAROIC is a special place to work. We are the largest Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) field station, having experienced a tremendous growth in staffing levels because of the arrival of new missions.  Our employee population has grown since May 2007 from about 900 to 1,400. The VAROIC is home to three Nationwide Call Centers, a Pension Management Center with jurisdiction over 21 Regional Offices, a Veterans Service Center, one of three VA Information Technology Centers, and the Memorial Service Network Region 1 area office of the National Cemetery Administration.  The VAROIC also houses the Insurance Center, responsible for $1.3 trillion in insurance coverage for nearly 4 million service members and veterans and 3.1 million spouses and children.

We are proud to be in the forefront of office automation, utilizing computer systems for claims processing, document imaging and paperless workflow and we serve as a development site for VA's newest innovations in information processing.  The VAROIC is also a recipient of the President's Council on Management Improvement Award for Management Excellence, and the office is also a two-time recipient of VA's highest award, the Robert W. Carey Performance Excellence Award.
